Order Cancellation Rules & Tips for Buyers

Buyers: You may follow the instructions below to request an order cancellation. However, we highly suggest reading this entire article, as it contains important information.
How to Cancel an Order – Buyer Instructions
- Go to My PBS > Buyer’s Camp > Buy History
- Select the order you would like to cancel
- Choose the Order Cancellation Request link and follow the steps
- Select whether the entire order needs to be cancelled
- Choose the reason for the cancellation from the list of available options
- Click the Finish button to complete the request
Important Notes
- A buyer can only request an order cancellation if the order has not shipped yet.
- If the order has shipped but has not arrived (or never arrived due to a carrier issue), the order cannot be cancelled and will instead be treated as a return.
- Buyers cannot request cancellation of individual items within a multi-item order from the same seller. The entire order must be cancelled. A new order can then be created with the correct items and quantities.
Buyers may request a cancellation, but only the seller has the final decision on whether the order can be cancelled. If the order has not yet shipped, sellers typically have no issue approving the cancellation.
How Long Does a Buyer Have to Request a Cancellation?
A buyer may request a cancellation any time before the seller ships the order. As time passes, sellers may be less likely to approve cancellations due to processing efforts, including packing, packaging, labeling, and preparation for shipment.
Once an order has shipped, cancellation is no longer possible. The item may be eligible for return after delivery, depending on the seller’s return policy. This policy is displayed on the Item Listing page before purchase.
If a seller fails to ship an order within 7 days of order placement, the buyer will be granted an order cancellation without question, if requested.
Seller Response Time
Sellers must respond to cancellation requests within 48 hours. Once a request is submitted, the seller is automatically notified.
The 48-hour response window applies Monday through Friday only. If a request is submitted over the weekend, the response window begins on Monday at 8:00 AM (EST).
After an Order Has Been Cancelled
- The buyer will be notified that the order has been cancelled
- If payment was already made, a full refund will be issued
Will a Cancelled Order Affect My Feedback Rating?
Cancelling an order will not affect your feedback rating unless the order was cancelled by the seller due to buyer non-payment.
Refund for a Cancelled Order
Once a refund is approved, the amount will be returned to the buyer’s original payment method immediately. The time it takes for the refund to appear depends on the payment provider.
If any issues arise during the refund process, we will contact the buyer immediately.
